Grid-Tie means that when there is solar gain or wind, that you are making your own electric and selling your excess back to your local utility company.

When you require more electric then you are producing, you purchase electricity back from your power company.

you are making all your primary electricity from Solar, Mini-Hydro, Wind, or from a Generator.  We offer you Solar, Hydro, and Wind as an alternative to costly generators or relying on having your electric supplied by an external utility company.

Grid-Tie Systems are usually not connected to a back-up generator but that could be an option.  In areas where a back-up power supply is required, we recommend using an OutBack Grid Interactive System.
